Diadora
Diadora has been a leader in the sports market for over sixty years. This Italian sports equipment brand is characterized by unique style and high quality stimulating the best sports performances. It was founded in 1948 in the town of Caerano di San Marco in the northern Italian province of Treviso and originally engaged in the production of quality hiking and work shoes. In the 1960s, it expanded its scope to sports equipment in general and, using modern technologies, quickly gained high quality and an excellent reputation. The global economic boom and the huge development of professional sports in the 1970s found Diadora prepared. It was shifting its interest to more and more sports and chose the path of uncompromising quality. It focused on technical and high-performance products meeting the high demands of professional athletes. It emphasized comfort and progressive design and this path reaped further successes.
Dia dorea means "sharing gifts and honors" in Greek. And that's exactly what became the destiny of the Italian sports brand Diadora: it achieved great successes and, thanks to teamwork and natural competitiveness, built a respected empire.
Diadora collaborated with stars of athletics and football, which brought it to the forefront. By the mid-1970s, it had sold more than three million pairs and was represented in 45 countries worldwide. Diadora became synonymous with success, inimitable Italian style and quality.
In the following decade, the company also turned its attention to other sports than traditional tennis, athletics or football. Cycling, basketball, volleyball, motorsports, but also fencing or boxing, these were the new targets of Diadora. Collaborations with the biggest sports stars raised the bar a bit higher.
Currently, the production of the brand focuses mainly on tennis, football, running and cycling.
