Dunlop
Dunlop is one of the most successful sports brands of the 20th century. Its history dates back to 1888, when a caring father, veterinarian John Boyd Dunlop, in an effort to provide his little son with a comfortable tricycle, converted solid rubber tires into the first air-filled tires. At the time, he had no idea that his makeshift air-filled tires would set the direction for the tire industry for over 100 years.
In sports, Dunlop has made a name for itself primarily in squash and tennis. Dunlop has the largest market share worldwide in the sale of tennis and squash balls and squash rackets.
The Dunlop squash ball is the official ball at all major events and 42% of the top 50 ranked players play with Dunlop rackets. Names like Karim Darwish, Amr Shabana or Gregory Gaultier speak for everything.
Some of the greatest sports legends in history, such as John McEnroe, Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova, played with Dunlop tennis rackets and reached the peak of their careers with them. A new generation of sports superstars including the likes of James Blake and Tomáš Berdych currently represent the brand again at the highest level.
Today, Dunlop builds on its rich history and remains true to its excellent reputation. It supports the development of youth sports at all levels through support programs and continues to invest in technical innovations.
