125 Years Not Just of Hockey
Yes, it's been that long since CCM, the Canadian brand, entered the market, but not of hockey, but then still cycling equipment. The company was founded in 1899, when several Canadian bicycle manufacturers merged into one company to face competition from the USA.
It Started with Skates
In 1905 CCM started making skates, which was a key moment in the company's history. CCM gradually became the dominant manufacturer of hockey equipment and from the 1930s specialized exclusively in manufacturing products for ice hockey.
Leading for Several Decades
Over the following decades CCM supplied equipment to professional NHL players and gained a reputation as one of the most significant players in the hockey equipment industry. Throughout the 20th century CCM expanded its range to include sticks, helmets and other accessories. The company changed owners several times and underwent restructuring, which led to further innovations in design and technology. CCM remains one of the world's leading manufacturers of hockey equipment.
